for art styles — YES you can copyright an artstyle. What the AI is essentially doing is tracing a bunch of different art works that it’s database is filled with, comparing things and then spews out what looks similar to said art style’s applied to a vague idea. Did these databases ask for permission? No. Look at deviantart and then adobe — should be clear that people don’t like AI models training on THEIR work.
Jobs. Let’s rehearse what you said. “No one is entitled to a specific job.”
I’m sorry, but when you say that, you’re essentially agreeing that people can lose their jobs and it’s… just _normal_ things? No buddy. It’s not that new artists can’t get a job (even though they already can’t), it’s the fact that ESTABLISHED workers, are being laid off or fired because of AI. This doesn’t only apply to artists, it applies to software engineers, 3D modelers, animators and even CUSTOMER SERVICE WORKERS. They are being replaced by AI, and that is… okay for you?? And that example doesn’t make any fucking sense at all. Are you really that dense? How does cars and horse _farmer_ relate to each others in an economy? Automation of eco-shitboxes aren’t the same as spewing out slops, you can drive a car, you can paint on a car, and you can drive people around in a car. An AI image do no such things, it only fools old people into scams or attention-baits. And farmers on the field — A LOT of crops are not able to be automated (and never will), like vanilla or almost every tropical fruits. They aren’t gonna get fired when canned peaches get automated.
I’m convinced that you’re just baiting people now. But from how much text there is? I’m concerned.
And opportunities. Yes. People, do love opportunities. But you wanna know what half of an artist’s consumers are? Absolute idiots. They see eyecandies and they like, whilst the other half supports them AND like what they puts out on an artistic level. They’ll obviously grow slower when half of the audience, is getting fooled by the likes of a fox so small it sits on a mushroom, or a girl in a room with one light source yet there are a thousant glows everywhere on her face. It’s slop for anyone with an eye, and unfortunately, most people are fucking _blind._
And what the hell do you mean humans consumes more electricity to make art than AI? Do you know what artists need to post a pic of their work onto an online website? A piece of paper, a pencil, and then a phone. _Where_ in those three things consumes enough electricity that Microsoft suggested to themselves to funnel their money into a _nuclear reactor_ to power their AI shitshow? Yeah right. *None.* Are you really just… THIS ignorant?
And for the very last paragraph— NO IT IS NOT ABOUT IF PEOPLE WILL CONTINUE TO DO ART. People will. They always do. The problem lays in the part where someone is losing their jobs and have their works shunted in favor of AI — it is inherently a monetary issue. AI is not stopping artists, and they never will. It only stops what was already going, by essentially dunking them all into a trash can and light it on fire after essentially stripping it bare of value.
