Tesla just put its own name to features that have been standard on virtually all new cars for 10-15 years now, namely TACC (Traffic-Aware Cruise Control) plus Lane Centering (which Tesla calls Autosteer). The only significant difference is that NHTSA tracks accidents and fatalities that occur in Teslas with Autopilot engaged, but pay no attention to accidents and fatalities in the other 150 million-some vehicles that are not Teslas but have the same functions as Tesla Autopilot.
