@R4nd0m-m7m I would never start making my own game if it wasn't for AI. As a solo developer, I don't have the budget to hire a musician or spend years learning how to code or animate. Without it, I'd never start, because making videogames is incredibly hard as it is, and as a solo developer I'll have to worry about a plethora of things: art, animation, code, game design, level design, music, marketing, story and etc; With AI all I have to worry about is "making a game" - it lets me start immediately and get results as early as possible without the ginormous notion of "I have to know everything before I start" looming over me. I can just focus on what's important to me and learn along the way. I think when it comes to learning, it's really important to get some kinds of results when you're starting out. If I was to learn music and was told that I'd have to spend 2 years learning theory before starting making my own music - that would be an instant turn-off for me. I don't know if I want to invest years of my life for a skill I'm not sure yet if I want to have. But getting a taste of what it's like early on definitely helps, and it makes you curious about other stuff. Knowing music theory isn't a "must have" - there are a lot of artists who play it by ear. Knowing it definitely helps, but I can't say it's essential. And with time, you'll start to outgrow AI and notice its shortcomings. You get to a point, when it's easier and faster to do it yourself, than fiddle with AI and try to make something. For example, I still let AI write emails and other stuff that I hate, but when it comes to creative writing - I'd rather do it myself because AI doesn't understand my characters and lore as good as I do. Same with music or any other creative field: AI is good enough to get you started, but if you want something better than mediocre - you'll have to invest in yourself, because AI can only get you so far. And when it comes to coding, I'd say AI is pretty educational. It explains what will work and why it works, why it used that solution instead of the other and will answer any questions as you go - it's like having a tutor sitting right beside you. And no boring theory - you learn as you go.
