I was trying to think the natural selection analogy through. Humans have over a long period of time (for us) but not long (universe) moved beyond natural selection. It is like we have a different operating system now. We had only sex, which let to reproduction and natural selection and that was how we evolved. Now we have birth control, IVF, and the ability to edit our own genes. To me that is an analogy to how things could go with ai. We don’t understand the trajectory or the implications of that trajectory. That is what I understand allignment to be though I don’t know enough of the vocabulary.
