@galladeguy123 Thiel hangs around with the same groups. LessWrong/MIRI/EA and Dark Enlightenment freaks have a lot of crossover and AGI risk people have spoken at Hereticon, for example. Turing died in 1954, so I doubt he had any relevant things to say on the subject. My point wasn't that there is no risk from AI or even that there's no existential risk from AI. But the authors of this book are part of a bizarre, incestuous community that has, in fact, produced all of the people making these risks a reality. They are not reliable sources on the subject.
