@jflaplante_ramblingsI don’t know of anybody saying that the guy isn’t a complete moron with most saying he should never be allowed to operate a vehicle again. The point is Tesla has “routinely” overestated its capabilities. Again if it was called “Tesla autopilot lane assist” absolutely the guy should be at fault with no downside to Tesla. For Tesla to call it autopilot and then charge people thousands of dollars for it is again, putting a battery acid drink in the console named “yum yum juice” for 3000 dollars then being surprised that people drink it. If the juice was labeled “death juice” nobody would drink it. The problem becomes one of branding and promises, not one of warnings and notices. They intentionally misled consumers with the name, full stop. Nobody would pay 3000 dollars for a glorified cruise control if they knew at the time of purchase it was *only* designed for lane keep assist.
