@sststr I'm gen Z, and I'm worried about how dependent my peers have become on using AI or even just their phones and computers to do work. I know it's a trend, as it's happened throughout all of history. But I am genuinely scared for the fact that people I am in school with are incapable of actually doing the work. I had a friend be a part of an internship where they needed to plan a community event where 2 of her teammates couldn't even make a power point for their pitch without making it entirely out of AI. Even I have a dependency because sometimes I need audio to read. I justify myself by saying it's an accessibility thing because I have ADHD, but I know in an all-honest truth is that I've become dependent. And especially now when in the US our government is erasing our history off the internet, banning literature from schools and libraries, blocking web pages, all in the name of "child safety," physical copies of research and literature is extremely important. You can call me crazy, but it's as clear as day that with how AI is being pushed to the top of search results, and with governments pushing furthered research in this technology race, that they're trying to make people not think critically. To not question who said what, when, where, and why. It's a way to dumb out the common man so they can't rebel against those in power. This is a common thread we've seen in history, it's why we have dialects and different writing styles. So it becomes even harder for those with lower educations to advance. It's extremely scary. BTW, this is not me arguing with you in anyway, it's just me explaining what I mean by concerned as this is a REALLY deep rabbit hole. Because at first, I thought it was just as simple as me becoming my parents, telling kids to put down their AI girlfriends and go make imaginary friends like the rest of us hose drinking, mud pie making, stick fighting weirdos.
