Yeah, he's.... not the best authority figure on this.
Demis, someone I actually respect, thinks AGI will be achieved in around four years. Pretty much all the technical research guys are more or less on the same timeframe.
It's just a matter of numbers, RAM being the hard physical limit of what kind of neural network you can build and run. Chat GPT was the size of a squirrel's brain, the upcoming datacenters with the GB200 are around human scale at a minimum.
