@dragoonphooenix A large part of what I had meant by that is as a "Good enough" solution. I have no desire to tell people to wait on me to learn skills such as the D&D character portrait example due to my respect for their time. I do practice some art on machinery concepts but I cannot do organics to save my life and in the end if something has enough value to me that needs to be made I would commission an artist over using AI like for my character Inanis. I would also like to pose a counterpoint to the theft statement as I believe it is theft to train AI to emulate others art styles but not to use art to improve how it draws a tree or a cat, especially when some artists specifically create art to train AIs with. An additional thing I feel isn't discussed is whether or not an image generation AI *needs* to be trained on someone's art to be improved? I can always go and take a photo of a dozen trees to improve my AI's ability to properly tree. Although if you'll permit a hint of philosophy, couldn't you list people copying someone art to improve their skill as also stealing said art? Since all skills start off with literally copying someone else's works or skills through mentoring or teaching until a point where something unique to you is developed when is that critical point?
