@LittleParody I'm not trying to twist your words. You literally said that people should either pay for custom art or accept mid results which I agree with. I'd never claim that AI images are comparable to human art, except in this one regard: human art is, on average, of higher quality, and especially when the story behind the artist turns it into something truly amazing.
I'm not trying to defend AI, which has been proven to steal from artists across the web. To be honest, I hope those lawsuits lead to proper regulation.
But I doubt that the commission-based market of people who want to support artists or get a piece made by their idol will be affected much by the average person who would never even think of commissioning anything anyway. There might be scandals about artists secretly using AI which is already happening and requests are getting wilder because people have the thought “I could just generate this myself” in the back of their mind.
