I think you taking the word 'steal' as literally as possible is hilarious if you're making an argument about use of language....it's pretty colloquially understood that someone 'stealing' a digital/nonphysical piece of art (music, for example) does not mean that they now posses all copies of the work and it's magically disappeared everywhere else.
Also, the difference between someone imitating or copying an artists work while they learn to draw themselves is that they are not passing off their work as original to them, as many Ai """artists""" do. If someone does copy another artists drawing and attempts to pass it off as their own then it's plagiarism. I don't think the majority of artists are """gatekeeping""" art against AI users because they hate seeing people get inspired or use their imagination, they're upset at AI """artists""" that pass of AI work as if they had created it themselves.
