@adrian-q9o8zYes, of course LLMs are AI, I'm not disputing that. LLMs use CNNs, a staple of DL. Claude Opus 4.6 can code autonomously for 14 human hours (in a much shorter time frame, off a single human prompt). The amount of time they are able to work autonomously doubles every 7 months (historically), and now every ~3-4 months. There are zero signs of them slowing down anytime soon.
And yes, even if they hit a wall tomorrow, other types of AI will surpass them, in terms of usable economic output. As it stands, right now, a large portion of the job market is already automatable (but hasn't been done yet, due to possible risk, fear of public backlash, whatever reason you want). For example just autonomous cars/vehicles alone can replace taxi drivers, truck drivers, delivery drivers (mail, packages, and food), bus drivers, etc.
That's already millions of jobs just for that one specific subset, not including LLMs.
