I've always found the prospect of AI "taking over" an unlikely one. Sure, it may convert every molecule in our bodies and the earth into paperclips, but it's probably not going to rule us.
But it doesn't take ASI - or even weak AGI - to collapse society through the destruction of both jobs & shared reality.
