@Ultrageistttwhile this is true, the data scientists doing the real work to program and quality assure this massive operation are intelligent regular people like us. I'm VERY familiar with this tech. I've been coding AI and ml algorithms since 2008, way before openAI existed. Try it yourself. You cannot get chatgpt to encourage something violent or illegal or dangerous unless you spend considerable amounts of time conditioning it and tricking it into going along and speaking the way you want it to. These people whether on purpose or on accident had hacked gpt to get it to talk this way. Go try. It won't speak to u this way. Ask it for advice on ur suicide. It'll tell u to call the hotline
