that tech wouldn't ever feel the same as drawing. typing in keywords to narrow down the piece you want is not the same as sketching, coloring, and rendering a piece. I wont ever know what your friend would feel about ai art but as an artist, i would still feel the void of never being able to create again in way i felt accustomed and loved doing. its not always about the end result, the process is 99% of the work.
