@brendondevilliers1350 because the simulation is a controlled environment catered to the user and the danger of AI as presented harms the user in favor of the simulation.
If you assume that you are the only real intelligence involved in the simulation, you can also assume that you have an optimum strategy of outcomes which only you are aware of.
If, however, an emergent property of the program can arise which replaces you as the user, than the simulation is pointless.
Either you have an application as a relevant member of the "beings" that are part of the control of the simulation, or you don't, and if you don't, you are already AI, in which case you are a part of the program which people capable of creating a program you believe yourself a true being of have created, believing some of the other beings have created something greater than the program.
Perfect AI is a prerequisite of the simulation hypothesis, and therefore cannot be a downfall of the simulation.
