@ForOne814 To your point, it is not a point to go against technology revolution. Similar things with the agriculture protest I mentioned, farmers protest because lots of their tasks are being replaced and declining in their income. Also similar things with the ice boys bringing ice to preserve food before fridge is invented. However, AI is a tool, created to automate tasks, not jobs. Farmers did not go away like the ice boys because the entire ice boys industry got replaced while agriculture preserves. Here, we know for sure the art industry is not being replaced. So artists is not being replaced and it is not the point here. The tech is cool and all, but it has to be used with consent of the sources it is taking from. The point here is the original dataset is for research purpose, without the training dataset, AI cannot "create" art. So it is ethically wrong to just take artists work and replicate it. It is not automation, it is replication with some modification. You cannot claim AI work to be art, because there is no "creative" process in it, it only knows to output result from its model learned from training dataset, which is not supposed to be used commercially. The whole debate would not happen if the companies actually pays for the artists' work they are taking from. No royalty, no flat fees, no nothing. Work is a burden? Which artists or musicians ever say art work is a burden?
