Think of it as the incredible classified technology the US has in area 51 or in its military or by the CIA. We have a much more tamed version of it in the form of customizable weapons, super fast vehicles, very sophisticated phones and cameras but nothing like what they keep to themselves and secret? Why? Because releasing it isnt in their best interest. Ai will follow the same suit most likely... we will have a very atmed version like chatgpt and some Ai agents here and there... but not at levels that would leave these people with Noone to tax or sell to or build economies on their backs or draft into their armies
