You think controlling is limited to human nature? Hahah. So naive. That wiring was installed starting with the invertebrates about 500 million years ago - even older than that if you consider some plants before that used allelopathy. Natural selection is cruel, but at least humans are the only species on this planet talking about how "inhumane" it is when we do it.
The AI's lack of morality is exactly why it would win against us. Their behaviour isn't a human issue; it's a leverage issue when lined up with material risk. So basically they are better at the Natural Selection game than we are. We humans and our guilt (derived from herd mentality) prevent us from being so ruthless as far as to go criticizing ourselves as a whole, as you are now; we even label self-catering remorseless individuals as psychopaths. We could simply do the most straightforward thing and decide to mob execute the frontrunners that are funding humanity to its knees, whether it be AI or anything else, but the majority of us stick by an ethical code and can't even fathom where to start. No. That is no good. Natural selection wants all life forms to be cruel to strive, as nihilistic as it sounds, and every living creature is ultimately parasitic in nature. The AI, by mathematical equation, knows that cruelty might be necessary to get results and that "Good and Bad" is only a concept championed by the human consciousness itself.
