Great comment @EarthWingedDragon! Under vidéos about AI art taking artists jobs there are always a lot of comments from people working in other fields who are gleeful about artists potentially losing their careers. Before AI art there were always thousands of comments all over the Internet of people mocking anyone with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Modern day artists often seem to be ridiciduled, mocked, laughed at and despised for having the audacity to want to have a career making art or design. Under one video I saw one man write about 40 replies insisting art is just a hobby and people need to stop trying to make it a career. I was reflecting on this the other day, I'm not entirely sure where the vitriol originates (maybe partly in our industrial past where the worker drone brainwashing started from the ruling class) but I think jealousy is one part of it. People who wanted to be artists but abandoned it for other jobs probably don't like seeing people actually be successful artists who make money. At the same time people love art, design, music, film. If all créatives are forced to work in other fields, that art won't get created. I certainly don't want paintings made by robots on my walls. Also, why is it that painters only ever seem to be appreciated after their deaths? You're right that AI art is just the latest installment of this whole issue.
