Yep consciousness is a gradient that we're all familiar with, it starts at zero while we're in the womb and slowly ramps up. People talk about it in terms of black and white be we all know that it's variable and fluctuates all the time, even as we age. AI will not have our type of awareness, the same way that animals are fundamentally different from us. Just thinking about the fact that we created a new type of entity blows my mind.
