@Air Ick The analogy only doesn’t work if they’re writing down what is said verbatim. But in writing, creative liberties must often times be taken to better portray a concept. It’s likely the human writer (who has a lot of experience) will do a better job than the speech to text at portraying the concepts the speaker is trying to describe. It’s basically an amateur who can now have a computer transcribe what they say vs. a person who understands the concepts the amateur is attempting to convey and can portray them better than they can. After all, writing styles exist just as art styles exist. Also I did learn how to draw, I used to use Fiverr to commission top-down tokens as well as scenes for my online rpg campaign. But I didn’t like having to spend $15-$60 for custom tokens for characters. So I learned to draw and haven’t commissioned the artist I used to use in over a year and a half. The thing is there’s no difference in outcome between if I did that and if I somehow came across an AI that was good enough to create the desired tokens based on a description. (I know no such thing exists yet) Regardless, I’m able to obtain what I need and am no longer commissioning the artist in both scenarios. I recall concern in a similar manner to this over a device I saw once on the news. It had to do with muscle memory and after mere minutes of someone wearing it on their fingers and it vibrating certain ones in a pattern, they were able to play the corresponding piece on the piano. There were pianists in the comments that were angry over it because now there’s potential for someone to learn a skill in far less time. But we shouldn’t halt the progression of technology or methods that will make things faster to learn of far easier to accomplish than there are now.
