Then I guess computers are way worse at processing data than you are? After all you had all those millions of years while computers only had few decades... This just doesn't follow logically. Computers are not humans, they don't need to evolve in same way or at same pace like we did, we can jump start them and speed up entire "evolution" in a blink of an eye.
AI is getting there, to be more or less equal to what humans can do already, it will (potentially already is) be better than average person is, which means that having self driving cars would be safer than having human behind a wheel. Simple example of elderly comes into mind, you have HUGE group of people who still wants to be free and drive around in their own car, but due to their age their reaction times are abysmal, what could and does help in this situation is self driving cars
