That's because they're designed for chatting, they're *chat* bots.
This is exactly why they shouldn't be used as search engines nor trusted to summurize information. Chatbots are not AI, they LLM. They learn language and how it's used within a specific model (they're programmed to please the chatter, that's people can train their chatbots).
They are designed to "chat" in a way that sounds human. They are not designed to be trusted sources of information.
