He basically undermines his own argument at 6:30. Humans learn from copyrighted work, so why can't AI? He says it's hard to justify, but I disagree.
Everything humans create is based on learning from and modifying what came before. People feel threatened because AI can do this more quickly than a human, but at it's basic level it is no different than how things have always been, it's just accelerated. Nothing is stopping creatives from using AI to accelerate or enhance their work. Nothing is stopping creatives from creating concierge 'human made' work either. At the end of the day a human is prompting the AI to do something, so it's still humans competing with humans. Sure a hammer and a nail gun will achieve similar results, but one is ultimately much faster.
If Temu, Shein, Walmart and Amazon have taught us anything it is that the 'average' consumer does not care about the process only the product, quality and price. Just because you took 10x longer to create something does not make it inherently better in the mind of the consumer.
