@GuyWithAnIssue haha, you have no idea, submitting intentionally poisoned data to a computer system with malicious intent, can and has been sued over successfully in the united states. it's considered hacking. they can also sue you for lost profits due to having to develop systems to detect poisoning, which will happen or already has happened. discerning abstract concepts between metadata, or tags, and visual features, averaged out over millions of images, is also not theft, it's actually more within the bounds of google search indexing or a bittorrent tracker, neither of which is infringement. nothing human recognisable or relatable to the input apart from a mathematical analogue to the kind of relationships you build in your head when you observe an image, is stored, so once again, it can't be infringement. you clowns have no idea about how badly they could put you in your place in court if they feel the need/desire to. right now you're all nothings to them, not a threat, just a minor annoyance to train the next model to detect and deal with at this point, just an engineering problem to be solved. and let's not bring ethics into it, this is just artists mad they're losing relevance, will be paid less and can't laugh at others and tell them to "learn to code" anymore, because they're now just as much at risk from automation as the coal miners y'all were laughing at a handful of years ago. I'm not surprised that you don't know any of this, it's why it's so funny, you guys actually think you have a chance, nope, I've been following 20 years of copyright cases and I can tell you, there's loads of relevant or related or similar case law that will just put a rapid end to any resistance that becomes an actual problem. you just can't sue over computers figuring out the intangible essence of images and then learning how to make them, just because some of your images were used to train it, it's like trying to sue over parodies, critical commentary or other fair use, and ultimately, I think that's where it'll end up, under fair use.
