@rainbowseal69he did not, novadays AI does not have the mechanism for “painting a world picture” as scientists call it. Chat gpt is a scenario generative model, which mathematically builds sense bindings between words and contexts. Its called semantic onthologies. Its just spitting out words that would make most sense according to his mathematically built rules.
He doesn’t know what “pants” means, he just knows that “pants” go well with “wear on legs” and “legs” is something that “humans” have and so on and so on. (He doesnt understand what is human or whatsoever either). Its a dumb robot.
GAI - general AI which hypothetically would be able to have consciousness is being developed secretly right now by many scientists and companies, but common people as you and me will never hear insights about that.
