@41-Haiku "I'm dead serious when I say that if everyone I've ever encountered who said there is no hope just took 10 minutes to call or email their political representatives and demand AI safety regulations, we would have a global treaty by now." we cant get politicians or the constituents to agree on how to fix roads and you think a couple of phone calls or emails are going to stop AI which is now a global race? come on man be serious, nothing is going to stop the progression, even if they make a big song and dance about trying to do it to the public behind closed doors its not slowing at all
