God doesn’t send anyone to hell… everyone is already headed there because of our sin. Sin can’t enter Heaven and we are all covered in it. Good deeds don’t cancel out bad ones.
Just like when u stand in front of a judge because u stole a car. U could say “Wait! I donate money to the poor… doesn’t that count!?”
And the judge will say “Good. Keep doing that. Buy u still need to pay for your crime.”
What Jesus did was to SAVE us from hell. He saved us from what we deserve. All he asks is for us to trust in him and his sacrifice and follow him.
We all want to be more kind, generous, helpful, compassionate, forgiving, etc. anyway, right?
