nah I get it too the artistic value of angel engine comes from the writing, which is not AI generated there's no artistic value in the animation which is a criticism, the animation doesn't do anything innovative or creative or interesting, there's no subtle allusions to anything in real life (like an actual artist might decide to make the angel have some environmental themes in it's visual design to make an allusion to how humans exploit the earth just like they are here with the angel) the animation is generic, it has no interesting ideas or things to say about the world because it was AI generated the story was not, it was created by a person, who has thoughts, feelings, messages they want to convey through their story that DO have meaning it's unfortunate that they are using AI because the animation can't really be praised beyond anything more than "it looks good" "the angel looks unsettling" etc etc. but there's nothing meaningful about the art to analyse or praise. there were no artistic decisions made in the making of the AI generated aspects of it the story is a seperate entity though, which can be praised and picked apart, and analyse all of it's themes, metaphors etc etc I am against it's use of AI, because it's use of AI doesn't serve any themes, messages, ideas or creativity, it is being used as a shortcut/money saver because the creator is a writer and not an artist and doesn't want to collaborate with any artists/animators, thus the animation has nothing worthy of praise beyond the superficial "it looks good and scary". and those superficial traits are because the creator put in prompts to get a scary uncanny valley alien, and wanted that specific art style, but none of those things are expressions of taste, creativity or meaning that an ACTUAL artist would implement but the story does hold artistic value, the writing has artistic value and is dependant on someones specific tastes, ideas, and messages they wanted to convey
