could end up like the back story of warhammer 40k IMO
in the story humanity created AI and is almost wiped out by it, just surviving by the skin of its teeth by creating a friendly AI race to negate the evil AI
then it reverts back to the dark ages with a ban on AI in the future cuz its seen as way too dangerous to exist
who knows at this point, agree with the interviewee that humanity will need to get burned on this before it learns its lesson
