This actually makes no sense. Do you make art because it makes you happy? AI has zero bearing on that. The proliferation of AI art generation does not prevent me from drawing in my free time for my own enjoyment.
On the contrary, the monopoly on visual expression by people who have the time to practice art has put a price tag on that happiness. Someone who cannot draw and is too busy to take the time to learn is forced to pay someone else to make art for them if they what their ideas expressed visually.
But now, open-source text-to-image models enable anyone to express their ideas visually.
Joe, who was working two-minimum wage jobs and didn’t have the spare cash to hire a commission artist or take the years needed to become a competent artist, can now visualize his ideas and experience that joy *for free.*
Stop pretending to be some sort of anti-capitalist when the reality is that you’re just oblivious to your privilege.
