no it's not the same as photography, i have seen that opinion countless times, there is no precedent for AI so there is literally nothing comparable to AI, the only way i see AI used for art, it's if you create your own data set of images ( without "contaminated" data set of Lion ) that would be cool and it was done in the past, but if you already are working with a data set with a bunch of stolen material that's not an artistic process at all, even if you do countless edition on the outcome of the Ai image, that's like request revisions to an artist, you didn't create the image AI did and you are "requesting" changes, now other way could be... you edit an AI image to the point it looks nothing like it was in the beginning and you don't edit that image with AI
