The point is that its heading very quickly toward consciousness. At present you may not be willing to call it consciousness, because its running algorithms and interpreting historical and present data and coming to conclusions based on that data. Which is rapidly approaching more than a human can actually do. Im a doctor, and AI certainly can beat me to remembering the treatment, the pathophysiology, and outcomes based on every long term study available. What is consciousness, is the question i think you need to understand too
Its not much more than that. We pretend it is, and that its magical God woo woo stuff. But its not. Your brain is just a series of algorithms running to every send or block a signal to a place or a different pathway depending on the steps before. When a brain is dead: the person is dead. Thats it, full stop.
Consciousness is the name we gave to a bunch a product of the brain....an ability to interact with other brains and recognize the uniqueness of our own. Thats it. AI is almost there.
