​@PLMMJ Sadly, it's been from dealing with many different artists over the course of years on everything from concept art, characters/creatures, backgrounds, logos, ui elements, and plenty of misc assets. At first I chalked it up to artistic individuals on places like fiverr just being bad even though I was picking well reviewed and not cheap individuals, so I started contacting people who were looking for work directly on places like deviant art, after that I tried some local artists because I live in a somewhat liberal arts college town and I figured maybe the horrible jobs all artists seem to do was a product of the online marketplace and having no accountability. The work did usually get done, eventually, but every issue I said was common across every artist I have ever hired. And I have easily hired over 50. 3d modelers have been a mixed bag, some I have hired couldn't produce models anywhere near the ones in their portfolio, others were very good. All the riggers I have hired have been astounding. Composers I have hired I have had trouble with getting on the same page with and usually required a few attempts but their work itself has always been fantastic and prompt with good communication. Digital artists though, not a single good one. AI has easily saved me $10,000's in what I used to spend on artists. The best part is I just need to copy/paste from their portfolio, clean any signatures/poison from the dataset and then ~6hrs later after finetuning and I can generate unlimited work in the style of any artist I want that probably took them decades to achieve all without giving them a dime. It's the most fitting end for them. All the money in the industry is going to dry up and I am here for it.
