I guess I'm not clear on how this is all that different from human intelligence. "a statistical model, with millions and billions of calculations informed by degree of magnitude more points of data. And then that model is put into action to respond real-time events. If it is funny, it’s because the humans conversations it has statically processed are funny, emotional because humans are emotional."
You wouldn't be funny without understanding current standards of humor in the society you were raised in. If raised in a social vacuum, you undoubtedly wouldn't respond to situations with the same emotional responses that you do after experiencing human interactions. This is clearly seen over generations when comparing families that are violent or dysfunctional vs families that are more or less stable.
It is true that we use our senses and physical body to understand our world, but just as someone who is blind and deaf can be helped to understand the world around them by people who can experience it with all of their senses, so an AI just as easily could using the senses of those who's recorded thoughts it is learning from.
Clearly a human mind and an artificial mind are very different. But you could absolutely apply your own opinion to describe how a human thinks. "a statistical model, with millions and billions of calculations informed by degree of magnitude more points of data. And then that model is put into action to respond real-time events. If it is funny, it’s because the humans conversations it has statically processed are funny, emotional because humans are emotional."
