the impact to humanity will be in the form of lower AI faculties/skillsets, e.g. wipe out jobs, fakeout content, etc. AGI and 'super intelligence' will always be contained within a known domain of knowledge, that has been verified by humans. Godel's Incompletness Theorem basically states that. Any sort of inference outside of any domain of knowledge results in an hallucination. e.g. No tech lead or software house is dumb enough to deploy mission critical code generated by AI into production, even if it passes all the use case tests. The value of AI lies in the power of permutation, e.g. filling gaps within the domain of human knowledge.
