Totally agree: his logic is shockingly weak — in fact this whole debacle shows whilst he might indeed be a good communicator, his critical thinking is actually quite poor, and he's the victim of a whole handful of cognitive biases (agent detection bias, various forms of confirmation bias, etc) . Which is rather ironic considering his job was basically to spot biases (in AI). Yeah, granted, he was looking for more obvious biases e.g. gender, race, etc., but still, one would think he'd have more of a clue.
