7:39 as for the reasons: someone at Google/YouTube wanted a promotion. And the only way to get a promotion is to ship new things. Given that the want to push "AI" everywhere, that fits. Ethics are not a concern. Public outcry isn't a concern. After all they are a quasi-monopoly.
If "AI" was so good why are they pushing it so hard?
