@caraaaa-b2cI can see how that could be a possibility. That just still feels improbable to me. I’m not sure if that’s overly naive, but I feel like there would be so many moving pieces to that type of plan that it would be nearly impossible for it to go unnoticed. I feel like it also would require a level of implicit trust in AI as a “truth teller,” for lack of a better term, that society at large doesn’t currently seem to display. Sure many people take AI information at face value, but something on the scale of wiping out/subjugating all of humanity would require a lot of direct convincing of some of the most powerful people on the planet. I don’t know maybe we will all die. Making it actually happen feels like the most handwaved part in some of these discussion. That’s just the part that feels like it requires the largest leap in logic to me.
