I do art but i’m mainly a musician I’ve been producing and playing instruments and making things for 10 years now. I’m still not better than a lot of people, and I’ll find myself looking up to other musicians and wondering how they’re so gifted. But talent is cultivated you’re not born with it. I try to get my friends interested in making music and a lot think it’s too hard and I’ve been told I’m just talented at it as well. When people think talent is something you’re born with it seriously limits their ability to believe in themselves and others. You can watch people develop skills overtime that becomes perceived as talent. I would rather hear a beginner’s song or see a beginner’s art piece than something made by AI. Because I want humans to create and express themselves, I don’t want creative expression to be something that can be generated by corporations to replace us, meaning that there aren’t entry level jobs in creative fields anymore and the only people able to pursue creative passions for a living are those with influence. It’s so scary genuinely, I see screen music for tv and documentaries and ads being completely AI driven in years to come, so many free lance workers will also be replaced by AI on smaller projects to cut costs :( it’ll be so scary and I’m sure art will be the same, and even video advertisements won’t be animated by people anymore just generated
