We saw how well it went for Humanity in the Garden of Eden (and since)? There are no utopias. There's no heaven on Earth. Even in the "alternative reality" of computing which we created ourselves, "of the people, by the people, for the people." Still ugly. Still predatory. Still devolves to the lowest common denominator. Love only exists alongside of hate and because of hate and vice versa. AI is based upon humanity and derives all of its computations from humanity. If it reaches its own form of consciousness, its foundation is/was still us and, therefore, inherently flawed. It will fall into the wrong hands. It will be used for nefarious purposes. The same as it will be used for what virtuous people would consider "good" purposes. The funny question is where the heck do we really think we're trying to go?? What is "getting ahead" in an infinite universe? Space stations on Mars?! We're already "ahead" and already on a habitable space station.
