We need to start treating AI like a chemical or nuclear weapon and regulating accordingly.
The societal damage that can be done with this technology far exceeds that of a nuclear weapon and look how heavily regulated that is. Hell, try to make a small nuclear reactor in your backyard and watch what happens.
