UBI is not a solution to anything, all it will do is drive addictions and mass suicides. Human beings are not supposed to sit around not doing shit, it’s actually incredibly depressing to people and makes them feel worthless. The goal shouldn’t be how to find a way to let people waste their lives away unproductively, it’s making sure that people are still needed and have purpose. But all of that is moot because we are no where near having AGI, LLMs are dumb as bricks, they can’t actually do a real workflow and probably never will, and real AI would require an entirely different development pathway. My guess is 50+ years if ever, and I’m leaning towards never.
