As far as consciousness goes, I feel we ask those questions because 1. We hardly know what made us and 2. We are superior to whatever said creator is. We can’t hurt it. We don’t even know anything about it. It’s different for AI. They can get smarter than their creator. They can literally overpower and destroy their creator. As far as species survival goes, I doubt they will focus more on questioning why they should exist. They will be more focused on conquering us and proving their dominance. It’s so sad.
