I think it can be helpful to use AI to get a boilerplate and waste less time on the basic shape of a product and focus on the result, this is as true for emails as for everything else it does, some things are faster to generate with AI and correct and refine after than doing from scratch, those are the parts being "automated" so that people will be more efficient in their work and if they're getting more done the company needs to hire less of them.
That means that you may use your writing skills less actively but you definitely need to proofread anything that AI generated
