@sharifastewart7316 you talk as if people will shoot at something with a 360 camera, or a drivers seat that is empty. The service has been available in Phoenix for a decade now & has not had anything like that happen. In fact since everyone knows it's a robot they avoid interacting with it. Other drivers don't even honk at it anymore since there is no point in arguing with a car.
A car with a driver meanwhile is a more attractive target as you can gain access to it. There literally is no value to a waymo for a gunman. It has interior camera. It has remote access from customer service, & can be disabled or maneuvered remotely.
