@Danuxsyits literally not, we have been using convolusional nueral net in products since the early early 2010s but machine learning had existed in one form or another for decades. Generative AI is the first thing to be marketted to consumers as "AI" but AI products have been used in industry for a LONG time... Famously self driving technologies had relied on "AI" since its inception.
Generative AI is the lazy little sibling to the more complex models of the past, it traded context awareness and the exponential complexity of neural net for exponential power and data requiments. I am literally a software engineer that worked at places whose main products were non-generative machine learning algorithms... You are demonstrating fantastically that the current hype is mainly marketing. Don't get me wrong I am not saying Gen AI as its being used as good or neutral but under the "AI" umbrella it is neither first nor the most powerful technology available
