Keeping a log on AI data generation is the bare minimum to do and should be easy. It's surprising it not already obligatory to tag a AI generated image as "AI-generated". The government should of course never be directly involved in companies logging and deliver transparent reporting on their AI activities to their customers. Governement is only there to hold companies to the law. US is just a wild west atm regarding AI data collection, generation and AI experiments. Just because (oligarch-monopoly-tech) companies in the US have free reign, it should not be seen as "the norm". 1-2% extra to conform to law regarding R&D is nothing and blown out of proportion.
