Indeed! Given the current climate with uncertainties around regulations, self-hosted LLMs are a real edge against any sudden price increase or service interruption.
What is missing in the video is a distinction between online tokens (hitting an API hosted online by the model provider) vs self hosted (LLM running either on user machine or in own company cloud). Using Chinese token as a measurement is not a great framing IMO
